Am I the only one who feels like the world is falling apart?

This morning my mom got a phone call. One of her close friends died.
She's had cancer for over a year now. She was on the point of death a few months ago and made a miraculous recovery, but then just a few weeks ago she took a turn for the worse. She was on her way to Mexico, to get special treatment there and she died.
It came as a shock to me. We knew she was in bad shape and that the doctors were telling her she wasn't going to make it. But somehow it, along with everything else that's been going on lately, shattered the illusion I've had since I was little, that everything in my world is safe and nothing really bad happens to us. But it does. The world we live in is real and it can be harsh and cold and we're not safe from it.
I don't know what I feel right now, or what I should feel. I'm glad that my mom's friend is free of pain now and in a better place, but it upsets me to see my mom hurt like this. It seems like pain is all around us, whether its people dying or getting hurt or just changing. I'm tired of it all and I'm tired of being the one everyone looks to for answers. It's just too much.

I'm sorry if it seems like I'm venting on you all...I don't mean to. I just needed to write this, to see if it would help me understand anything better. I don't know if any of you can make sense of it, but if you can let me know.

On a lighter note, I finally found a use for my giant 8 pound block of Sculpey clay. XD I've been sculpting away and as soon as the paint I ordered gets here in the mail, I'll be sure to post some pictures of what I've done.

Also, a huge thank you to all my new watchers - it seems like every time I come to check my messages, I have a new watcher. Thank you! And thanks to all my "old" watchers too - I wouldn't be here without you guys to support me. You guys are great!
